Six Raytown C-2 School District schools were honored for their successful adoption and implementation of Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS) during the annual Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support Summer Training Institute held at the Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, Missouri on Wednesday, June 14.

Buildings honored included: Laurel Hills Elementary, Raytown Middle School, Raytown South High School, Robinson Elementary, Spring Valley Elementary, and Westridge Elementary.

“These schools submitted evidence that they were implementing SW-PBS in their buildings with fidelity to the regional professional development center consultants for School-Wide Positive Behavior Support,” said Director of Student Support Services Dr. Staci Mathes. “Schools receiving recognition are considered "exemplars" in the state and other schools are often referred to them for guidance as they are on their own SW-PBS journey,” added Dr. Mathes.

According to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, “Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support is a systematic approach to creating safer and more effective schools by structuring the learning environment to support the academic and social success of all students.”
